Since his arrest Paul Denham has maintained his innocence.
He had proof that he wasn't even in the same city as the crime when it occured.
In spite of this a jury and judge convicted him of first degree murder - based on one piece of evidence - a handwritten note. This note was not shown to Paul before nor during the trial. We now know he didn't write it - and we have expert handwriting analysts who have given sworn affadavits that the handwriting of the note does not match Paul's.... but the handwriting matches the arresting officer.
